act for transformation is a non-profit association working in the areas of global and peace education and development cooperation. We have long partnerships with Peace Groups and Civil Society in the Caucasus area and Sudan. For some years we offer weltwaerts – volunteer places in Caucasus area (Gerorgia, Armenia) and want to start in Sudan (North and Uganda) and we have incoming volunteers from this country working with us in Aalen / Ostwuerttemberg region.
You will work in a team of volunteers from Georgia and Sudan and stay in a common volunteer flat. Project places are in Um-Welthaus Aalen and other partners in the region. We offer workshops on global learning, intercultural awareness, and peace-building to schools and other institutions and committed to the work with migrants. Together with BUNDOstwuerttemberg (Friends of the Earth Germany) the Um-Welthaus (One-World-House) Aalen offers a One-World and environmental education classroom as well as exhibition space, offices and seminar rooms. children group and holiday program especially for migrant children
support and preparation volunteer program and new volunteers
working with partners like
Bicycle Repair station
they offer free options to repair bicycle and get a cheap one for migrants and people with low income
Solawi (Solidarity farming project)
to support farming activity at farm and help to distribute the products to consumer
Migrant Coffees
on different places there are open meeting points for migrants in the town where people can learn German, get support in integration subjects
Friddy children Group
in an area with many intercultural mixed inhabitants, we offer children group and activity together with the social worker
LEA – Ellwangen – refugee camp
In a big refugee arrival camp we support the children group there, activities for youths and the open coffee point together with other volunteers and with Caritas and Malteser
The volunteers have the possibility to get to know civil-society projects and make internships in social work institutions like kindergarten, elderly houses and working with handicapped people. They can implement their own project ideas.

What we wish and expect
you are between 18 and 27 years old
it’s not necessary to have a university degree, but must have a school certificate and willingness to learn more
Delight in working with youth, migrants, and adults
Interest in political topics and peace-building, global and intercultural learning
Participation in the One-World-House and organizational activities
Well-versed in all standard office applications
Willingness to work at weekends if necessary
Ability to work in an intercultural team
Learning German, working language will be English and German
About weltwaerts Program
Monthly pocket money of 300 € will be paid and you will have health insurance and accommodation in the volunteer flat. Working and transport costs will be offered.

Seminars and preparation
Volunteers have 24 days of seminars and preparation time. Our working language could be English, but we also expect that volunteers learn German before they come to us. For this you have to start in learning German, what will be funded us and go a preparation program. After arrival, you will have orientation and preparation in Aalen and we offer Mentor and gonging language courses.
